Lower Control Arm Set
1966-1968 Buick Riviera
The Metco Motorsports high performance lower control arms for the 1966-1968 Buick Riviera are CNC-machined from 6061-T6511 billet aluminum for unsurpassed strength and precision-fit. The control arms are clear-anodized for long-lasting surface protection.
Our control arms are designed to be installed as a direct replacement for the factory control arms, but offer the benefits of the dramatically stronger billet design and Energy Suspension-brand polyurethane bushings. Each bushing has a grease fitting for long term, noise-free service. In most cases, no modifications to the vehicle are required for installation, although compatibility with the factory rear sway bar is unconfirmed.
These control arms were developed specifically for our own 1968 Riviera GS, which was not factory-equipped with a rear sway bar. The sway bar holes in the original control arms were duplicated on our billet control arms, but as mentioned, the sway bar fitment is unconfirmed. Additionally, these control arms may also fit other Riviera model years, but that also remains unconfirmed at this time.
Note: As is typical with cars built during this era, there is some variation in the fasteners used to secure the lower control arms. 9/16" bolts are typical, although we have seen one instance with 1/2" bolts. New 9/16" installation hardware is provided with this control arm set. For vehicles with 1/2" bolts, the control arm mounting holes in the chassis and axle housing must be enlarged to accommodate 9/16" fasteners.
